Dear Donors!

Since November 2017, I am raising money to rebuilding the Pioneer Prep School in Dominica. The campaign started after the devastating Hurricane Maria on 18 September 2018. I am pleased to report that the donation account could be filled with €7.500! Thus all necessary materials can be provided for the reconstruction of the school.

At this point, I would like to thank all donors on behalf of the teachers, students and parents of Pioneer Prep. School!

It is not a matter of course to help others in need, which is why I am very pleased that this campaign has found so many supporters! I would like to express special thanks to the TV-Bommersheim, who selflessly and very committedly enriched this campaign. Furthermore, special thanks to Mr. Buchmann and Miss Bucher from Taunus Sparkasse in Oberursel, who trustfully opened up the donation account and found quick and reliable solutions in case of difficulties.

In order to make the campaign as transparent as possible, I would like to give you an insight into the current status and future plans:

With the collected donations all desired materials for the reconstruction of the school can be procured. For this, I have commissioned two companies in the USA for the interior fittings and teaching material (tables, chairs, shelves, boards, books, notebooks, stationery, etc.): Ikea Miami & Lakeshore School Supplies. The orders went out to the companies today.

Furthermore, I have also decided to donate roofing material from the donations as well. Many Dominicans still have no waterproof roof on their houses and live provisionally with tarpaulins. The sub-tropical climate and the many rainfalls therefore increase the disease risk, which I would like to counteract. Michiana Building Supplies is my supplier for galvanized sheet steel.

All three companies have a delivery period of 7-10 days and will deliver the goods to Caribtrans in Miami. With Caribtrans the material will be shipped via container. This process can also take up to 14 days.

On Friday 02.02.2018 I will start my journey to Dominica. From here I will arrange all the arrival organizations of the goods, since it can happen that the materials arrive after my departure (26.02.2018). During my stay, however, constant updates are given on the state of the material journey and the situation on site. You will find the updates regularly on my block: https://lindaroehl0.wixsite.com/rebuild-dominica

Since I will not be able to spend the 7.5000 € on the cent exactly, I will decide on the ground, how I use any leftover donations meaningful for the population.

Thank you again for your trust and your donation! You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions.

Best regards, Linda Röhl
